Ellesmere Craft Market

A one day craft market showcasing the high quality product produced ny local crafters. Products range from cheese to knit wear, ceramics and jewellery. This popular craft market takes place between 10.00am and 5pm in The Market Hall, Scotland Street, Ellesmere. Admission is free, refreshments are available. Tile Decorating Workshop at Jackfield Tile Museum

Join a drop-in tile decorating workshop between 10am and 2.30pm and try the tube lining technique to produce your own ceramic masterpiece; you could make a collection of coasters, a circular door plaque or a gift for a loved one on a heart shaped tile. Activities vary from day-to-day; tiles cost from £5 each and can be fired and sent home later for a small extra charge to cover postage and packing. It takes up to 1½ hours to decorate your tile so last admission to the workshops is 2pm.

Bordeaux Masterclass with David Launay

A Bordeaux Masterclass with the Commercial Director of CA Grands Crus, David Launay. Guests will sample a selection from their properties of Château Grand-Puy-Ducasse in Pauillac, Château Meyney in Saint Estèphe and Château La Tour de Mons in Margaux. This is a great opportunity not only to taste these three excellent properties, but also to compare and contrast the styles from three of the Médoc communes and with David’s encyclopaedic knowledge to guide you, an interesting and insightful evening awaits.

Steam Threshing Weekends

The season ends in a spectacular way, the last two weekends of October the whole team comes together to run the steam engine and threshing machine. Whole stalks of wheat are fed in through the top and separated in to chaff, grain and straw. The straw is then baled up with the steam powered bailer. Listen out for the toot of the horn before the action starts!
