Enjoy a great day out with over 15 English Heritage sites to visit in Shropshire. Take a relaxing stroll around the beautiful moat walk at Stokesay Castle, the finest and best preserved fortified medieval manor house in England. Explore a recreated Roman Town House at Wroxeter Roman City, once the fourth largest city in Roman Britain, and visit the ruins of Wenlock Priory, the birthplace of the Modern Olympic Games in Much Wenlock.

There’s also Boscobel House and The Royal Oak, originally a timber-framed farmhouse where the future King Charles II sought refuge in a tree, just 20 minutes from Church Farm. Visitors today can also see the dairy, farmyard, smithy, gardens, and a descendant of The Royal Oak. White Ladies Priory, another of Charles’s hiding places, is a short walk away.
